Where did you get the pyrs from?

The one time I have tried to intervene by pulling him away from the quiet puppy, he turned around and threatened me, then hubby who ended it with slapping him to get him to submit.

The agressive puppy will not let the other one eat at all, even if I feed them at different ends of the porch. He runs back and forth hogging the food in both bowls. I have started feeding them separately, shutting the aggressive one up with his food then feeding the other brother by himself where he is unseen by his brother.

I thought I would just have to feed the separately all the time and not give them any treats together.

We just had the aggressive one neutered yesterday so I guess it will be a few days before that makes any difference?

Am I suppose to step in and stop the aggression?

Funny you should mention that, stepping on the front foot of my lab has been a trick that I had used in the past that had worked pretty well. He's nearly 10 now, and is just the best, but very typical black lab. He is an intact male, and when he was younger he used to think he was "the man!" a few times of him standing his ground and growling at me, I would just step up to him, closser and closer and then I would step on his foot all the while staring directly at his face. That would usually always get him to back down.

Ignoring works sooo well with pyrs. It's a lot like when I work livestock, and I sort through my herd. I literally look right through cows I have no interest in, (ignoring) when I'm looking for a specific animal. All the other animals I am not focusing in on, just step away.
I am very very pleased with the amount of progress in such a short time frame. You can tell that my pyr is not like other dogs. She DOES NOT like to be disrespected at all. But when we talk to her like we would talk to our kids, she minds much better. Of course, there are little puppy behaviors that tend to be annoying but she is only 4 months.

I hope that these two brothers will find some peace of mind.
