That certianly is a new twist on the old story. Before, the issue was thought to be some chemical, now they think it's irridation.
Still doesn't make me want to by jerky treats for my pets

Bottom line....read the label and the fine print!!
It may be "distibuted" in some part of the states, but it is "made" in China!!
If owners would just read, our pets can't, then maybe when the stores find out that they can't sell the stuff they will take it off the shelves.
The only chicken jerky I have found that says in large letters, "made in the USA" is sold in Costco...and not every Costco...again read the label

I just quit buying jerky and started reading the labels over and over and over again. To be honest though I think everyone is starting to cut corners because, I am seeing more and more recalls on foods and treats.

One bag probably wont kill your dog.
I fed my dog several bags of the chicken jerkey treats when they come out, before I started reading about health issues being suspected due to the chinese chicken.
Once I read about that, I stopped buying them.
It's such a shame too, because they are (in theory) a good nutritious and very inexpensive food for what they are. But when animal illnesses starting to show up, they thought there was some problem with the chicken treats, perhaps what they feed the birds, perhaps what chemicals they process the birds with, perhaps something in processesing. They just don't know yet.
I guess if I want to feed my dog jerky treats, I should just make them myself. LOL
