Like everyone else I'm certain you did the right thing. And don't worry about her being an outdoor dog. Canines have gotten along just fine living outdoors for quite sometime now. Mishka is young. She can adapt.

Mishka, has shown some aggressiveness towards my friend and her son. They were trying to put her in the kennel but the dog wasn't having it and went nuts. My friend and her father still want to keep her to try to work it out. Of course I am still very worried for their safety since she was aggressive in my home. I know prys are suppose to be independent but is it normal for them to get that why when they have to do something they don't want to do? TO me, that seems a bit odd for them to act in such a manner. I can understand them just going dead weight and not listening but to get that way. My friend did say she was trying to get her to come by grabbing her collar and , Mishka, hates that so maybe she will settle down. I don't know. I honestly think at this point I'm just having false hope. I think maybe the dog would be better off in a one person family where she is allowed to do what she wants.

That's interesting. My two pyrs do the passive resistive thing when they have to do something they don't want to. "I don't want to go in the house, so I am going to roll over on my back, and you are going to have to drag me in by my feet. Heee heee hee heee! " In fact, with the excepting of when they are on patrol, running around barking and growling (after UFO's or something) I've never heard them make an agressive sound toward me or any other person.

I recomend when they kennel the dog, try the ignoring thing for a while, see if that gets Mishkas attention. I had my two pyrs in a back yard for a while, back when their ears just wern't working well at all, and at some point I think the two of them got out cotton swabs and cleaned out their ears, because they both listen to me pretty well now.

the aggressiveness needs to adressed for safety of dog and human, can they get a good trainer for an evaluation? i for one, would never grab a dog to come by grabbing the collar, it doesnt work on esp a pyr. did ur fren make the kennel nice and welcoming for mishka?
both our pyrs are getting a bit deaf as they got older... they may dwadle a bit but will do as told esp the male pyr who will listen to a command like a commando drill (most times at least). i find it useful not to use COME but GO SLEEP/ INSIDE for crating (in my case it's room or a section of house) or eg LET"S GO CAR RIDE and they will both jump into the car, no hesitation . always happy positive experiences. i do so hope things will work out for mishka and for u obviously love her so much

Is Mishka food motivated? If so maybe they can work on using only positive reinforcement to teach Mishka rather than resorting to forcing her.

I grab Butters my the collar all the time since I had him. ( someone at the door, to teach stay and not jump, or chasing his little sister too hard) Does not phase him one bit. He is a pretty docile boy when it comes to us humans.

I don't grab Polar Bear by the collar, because it's spikey!

If he is streaking by me with his ears turned off, I just grab some hair, and he the rolls over and laughs at me. (I swear he laughs.... he just has that big old stupid grin on his face with his tongue hanging out, he's just ridiculous sometimes )

The only time he has ever, and I mean ever bolted at me, is when I starteled him when he was sound asleep, he woke up with a start, and in full defence mode.
