I love seeing Lily run and play! What a great photo!

Commander Fluff is continuing to do really well, even with the reduced dose of anti-inflammatory meds. I am very encouraged, although I do wish heíd be a little more cooperative in NOT bouncing all over the place like a madman...

I did some looking around yesterday, and it appears that there is a vet near me who specializes in pain management - physical therapy, sound wave therapy, acupuncture, etc. I am keeping him in mind for if we need him.

Hope Sebastian continues to heal and get strong...okay maybe not too strong!

it is hard to keep them down & quiet...wish we could explain it to them....reminds me of an old cartoon by Gary Larson...

"What we say to dogs...sit, stay, down, off....what they hear....blah blah blah blah"!!!

Sometimes I wonder what would happen if we could go to a dog park and let Sebastian, Kit, Lily, Zech, Pippa... PLAY!
I would paaaaaaaaaaay to see how Pippa would interact with all of the above! After reading all the stories, I feel like I know them so well and think I could tell more or less what they would do

Kit would love playing with everyone. She is very gentle with other dogs.

I skipped Sebastian anti-inflammatory meds this morning, and he is still ready to PLAY!!!, which is a good sign. He did a post-poop victory lap around the yard about half an hour ago.

Tomorrow is our appointment with the orthopedist. Fingers crossed that she has some good news for me! I will let you all know what she says.

SM - hoping for Great results today and I can see The look on Sebastian's face doing his victory dance in my head...

Mikelg84- I LOVE the idea Zech would be so happy he's always the best boy in the dog park and just think how lovely it would be to be in the park with a great group of dog parents not just owners on phones - I'd love to see you all in person and I think Zech would just fall in love with Pippa...

Zech says he would love to learn to kangaroo Jump from Tyro and his girls... and well I am almost afraid of what he could learn from Kit and Commander Fluff LOL.. what a fun idea... helps the wait for Sebastian's Ortho results for sure.

Thank you all so much for all of the positive thoughts and well wishes!

Unfortunately, the orthopedistís office called this morning, to let me know that she had called in sick. The only time they had available this week was one that definitely would not work for us. We are back to square one. On a happy note, today is day two without the anti-inflammatory meds, and he still seems to be feeling okay.

So, now, I am at a crossroads as to what the next step should be. The options are:

-Nothing, since he is weight-bearing and running post-potty victory laps regularly.

-Follow up with our regular vet and have her examine him to see if she thinks we need to see a different specialist.

-Take him to see his rescueís vet. She probably sees more Saints and Saint mixes than anyone else in the area. According to the owner of Sebastianís rescue, her clinic has a traveling veterinary surgeon who books time in the clinic regularly to perform surgery. He supposedly charges a lot less for the surgery than the specialists at the specialty clinics.

-Take him to see the pain management vet who does physical therapy and other treatments. This guy can also perform surgery if needed.

I plan on presenting these options to our regular vet tomorrow to see what she thinks. If anyone has any thoughts, I would absolutely welcome them.
