Having just gone thru Hurricane Harvey, my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Florida. But I also know how hard it is to get word out when power is out. We were without power for 13 days...and was suppose to have been much longer. Hopefull power will be restored soon and contact can be made to let us know all is okay.

So Sorry I missed this thread! I am alive!! The past few days have been insane! We are okay and have power. For a while, we were trapped in our homes because we couldn't get the cars out without electricity. Then we had to manually lift it out with three people. The door was surprisingly heavy. My parent's roof leaked but our home is one of the few places still with electricity because it is built on a old military base. Thank you guys so much for the warm wishes.
We are back at our home and there are no major damages other than a crack on the wall and some minor leaks.

Glad to hear you are okay.

Looks like mother nature is pissed at all of us right now. Between all of the hurricanes and fires going on it's not looking great in the states.

Yay, so glad to hear you and family made it through in pretty good shape!!

Ren's canine paternal grandfather and his family live close to Tampa. They are fine, the house is fine, but they still do not have power.

I am keeping a close eye on Hurricane (maybe a Tropical Storm at the present) as you never can tell what these crazy things will do. Is suppose to take a complete loop and then head out into the Atlantic and not come to the US shore. Praying that is right.,

It is such a beautiful clear blue day--I swear Texas has the bluest sky in the world. And all the "naked" trees are sprouting new leaves! The live oak leaves will remain green all winter. Our lemon tree is saying "Hurricane, what hurricane? I never knew a hurricane was here. Don't think we lost a leaf off it. Orange tree lost some, and little pear tree took a beating, but it also has new leaves. Just sitting on the patio and NOT looking at downed fences around the yard, everything looks like we were never hit by a cat 4 hurricane! Out front--different story.

Everyone I know got their electricity back today! Hooray!! I am still trying to recover from the stress and lack of sleep. I think the hurricane has changed my sleep patterns and made me noctornal. Work has been canceled for the rest of this week. I might need some help with Kit because the Irma made her a bit nuts with the barking and lunging.

Found out today they are aiming to start school on the 25th. Think repairs will be complete by then. That is almost a month late. Son said most likely they will cancel Spring Break and only have 2 days off at Thanisgiving rather than the entire week. Rest will be made up next June.
