Default Tucker has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure

I had boarded Tucker this July at his favorite "spa" while I was traveling. The day before I was scheduled to return they sent me a message that he had started coughing. When I picked him up last week we all thought that somehow he had contracted kennel cough even though all dogs have to be up to date on vaccines. Anyway the vet diagnosed a heart problem and after several tests it was determined that he has A-fib and congestive heart failure. My sweet boy is only 5 and I am devastated by this news. I start him on several meds tomorrow and the hope is to minimize symptoms and keep him comfortable. The prognosis is not good. Please don't ignore coughing by your dogs even if you think you know the cause.

Sending prayers for your sweet boy. It makes me so sad to hear this. Have a friend whose 5 year old Kangal was just diagnosed with the same thing. It is so young...

Hugs to you & your family...tummy rubs to Tucker...

I can imagine the feelings you are going through right now....

Just give Tucker the best you can right now, try to keep things normal...he knows he's not feeling himself, but he doesn't know why....try to be positive for him

I hold you & Tucker in my thoughts....

I am so sorry to hear about Tucker's scary diagnosis. I wish there were adequate words, but they elude me right now.

Sebastian, Chester, and I are sending love, healing energy, and superhero strength to you, Tucker, and your family.

Just joined the group but I have had my share of health issues in past dogs to know, when they are young it is very difficult to deal with the emotion. My heart goes out to you and your boy.
