    Smile Ike in his environment

I had an interesting experience with Ike this morning. We were hiking in the woods which is one of the places I can let him off leash. The area is heavily covered with manzanita and has a creek that runs through it and banks on either side. There were several places that I could go through but Ike could not due to the manzanita. I watched him find the paths that would get him to where I was, at times crossing back over the creek and going up the bank a ways so he could see which path would work for him. He was so pleased when he would take a circuitous route and was able to join me. He was definitely in his element. Good experience for both of us.
