Thanks everyone!!! This is the first for me raising a pup without the help of an adult dog. I am quite sure I've broken every "rule" of how-not-to-play-with-a-giant-breed-puppy. He's now 10 weeks and the badger marks are still very dark, so I expect that he will retain some of that badger mark as an adult. Bijou was also born with badger marks, but not as dark. By the time she was 8 weeks, the color on her face had already mostly faded.

Don't feel bad. I broke all of those rules with Missy and I like to pretend that she turned out just fine.

the only rules we have are...cuddle the puppy as much as you can while they are little...and if that means on the couch...well than that's okay!!
Rules are for growing up...Ren is still experiencing life with you....you can make the rules up as he grows!

Oh Jewel what a cutie. Congratulations on getting back up on the horse so to speak. I know Bij and Bro really hit you hard and have been praying that they would send you the help you needed. Yes teaching (you can forget all about the training aspect of it) a Pyr Puppy without the benefit of an older Pyr will present it's on special set of challenges, but, I am sure that stopping to ask yourself how would Bijou respond will guide you a long way down the path. (besides this leaves you room to pick up an older female from rescue to help educate Ren.)

Beautiful pup reminds me an awful lot of Hank when he first came home.

This is absolutely the best thing you could do for yourself. I have never been more than a few weeks without dog fur all over the house! And that is the way we like it!

I look at that face and I imagine that is just the way Moose looked as a puppy. We often say how we wish we had seen him as a puppy. Anyway, BIG congratulations on getting this cutest little guy!

I know I've said this before, but...
Nature makes them cute so we don't kill them for being bad, and makes them bad so we don't hoarde them for being cute.
Luckily for us, once they finally grow out of the constant mischief phase, they turn out to be pretty awesome.

    He is insanely cute!

HAHAHAHA how well I remember the poo eating stage! With Apollo it was the frozen one's. He liked to sneak them in the house first time I grabbed a semi frozen turd off the floor i was in shock

    He sure is cute though
