Hi! Took Samson to the vet at three months (about 3 weeks ago) and he weighed in at 35 lbs! I think he is well over 40 now!

Luca is now 7 1/2 month old and weighs 63 lbs. She got spayed today, that's why I know her actually weight.

Default Abraham - My Tiny Pyr

My pyrenees is very very very small and I wondered if anyone has had experience with runts. The parents are normal sized working pyrs.

When I first picked him up I thought he was mellow, but now that I look back, I think he was listless from lack of nutrition.

At 9 weeks, he was 2.2 lbs. He was very skinny, with a fat belly. I suspected worms so he has now been dewormed. I have had him for almost 2 weeks now and I suspect he has doubled his weight in the last week. I need to weigh him again so I will provide that update later. He has a ton of energy now and is always hungry and I can't feel his ribs as much.

So my question is, as long as he is gaining weight, should I not worry about the health implications? I am particularly worried about a liver shunt.

And to answer your question, why would I have purchased this dog when I knew there was something wrong - I believe he would have died if I hadn't.

I also just wanted to share, I think my little buddy is really special!
