We just got our pyr. We've had him for 1 week exactly. He is 9 weeks and 2 days old. He weighed in at 20 lbs at 8 weeks. I'm excited to know what he weights at 11 weeks when he gets his next booster! His name is Ares.

Hi, I have Murphy who was 24 lbs at 8 weeks, he is now 5 1/2 months and he is 74lbs.
I have Miss Molly whom is 8 weeks now and weighed 16.5 lbs at 7 weeks.
I constantly weigh them as I drive by the vets frequently.

We did a weigh in last Wednesday on the 8th at 3.5 months and Ares cashed in at 42lbs. When he got neutered on 7/18, he was 29lbs. He's 3/4 pyr and 1/4 akbash. I know he's going to be a Big boy, and we can't wait to see what he tops out at!

At our last two weigh-ins Mrs. Bigglesworth (Biggs) was 73 lbs. at seven months and just a touch under 84 lbs. at eight months.

Many pyr owners focus on the number on the scale. But alas, that number on the scale in and of itself is kind of meaningless. The important thing is to focus on the puppy's body condition. You want to feed the puppy enough but without the puppy being a roly poly little piggy. You want to be able to feel the pup's ribs with a slight layer of flesh over the bones. If you can't feel the ribs at all, you should consider cutting back on the food a little. If you can count every single one of the pup's ribs without pressing down on its sides, then you want to feed more. There is no exact science because each pup is different.

I would recommend checking out the articles in this thread. http://www.greatpyr.com/forum/showth...ight=nutrition
