    Default Pyr Sitting on others?!?!?

    Hello,

I am new to this forum and am very happy I found it! I have an 18 month old male pyr who has begun sitting on our other dog and will sit on my 7 and 9 year old daughters if they are on the floor. I was wondering if this is just him being silly or if it is a form of protection they would use whild guarding livestock. Please let me know if this is normal behavior for a pyr or if you have seen the behavior before.

    Thanks!!!

No, this is not a behaviour they use with sheep. With your other dog, I would guess it's a dominance thing, which might also extend to your kids. The dogs will work it out, but start working on your pyr getting to see your kids as part of the "leaders" of the pack.
