  1. Well, it has been over three weeks, so I will be taking my Brick back in to the Vet. He shows more pain now;I bought some tramadol and it helps. I don't know if it is the cooler temps or getting worse that fast. It is breaking my heart to see him like this so young.
This is something for others to look out for; if your pup is very inactive or will only walk several feet at a time, he may not be lazy. I feel so guilty for not seeing it sooner. Wish him luck.
  2. Thank you all for your thoughts, I really appreciate it. It is both of his hind legs. My Vet wants to give him 3 weeks on anti-inflamatories, and excersize, then make a plan from there. He did say there is a very small chance he could grow out of it as he keeps growing. Well, this is something to remember if anyone gets a puppy that is unusually
inactive. I feel so guilty that I never saw him appear to be in pain when he was little.
  3. Well, My Vet visit for Brick was not too good. Unfortunately he does not have hip dysplasia, rather his leg bones have grown crooked, and they can't be surgically fixed. It is just a birth defect. He is on anti-inflamatories, and I need to try to help him build up more muscle in his legs. Short walks to start. Dr. said he is in pain so that is why he is not active. My poor puppy. I will have a followup appt. in about 3 weeks.
