Fence height

I am planning for the day we can get a pyr. This summer we will start with the sheep. We will put in a fence and I'm wondering what fence works well for both sheep and a pyr. I live in WI so we do get a lot of snow. I have been looking at fencing and it is expensive so we will initially fence in less than 1 ac. Thanks for sharing! Tracy :)

We use a strong electric fence, it works great on both dog and sheep. Just let them touch the wire with the nose, and make sure they understand its the wire thats dangerous, not you. Louise

Hi, welcome to the site.

We use a good mesh farm fence, 6' high and it seems to work well, you might want to use the thicker gage to prevent the livestock from ramming through it.
