Hi all,

Just thought I'd post a short intro to myself. We are a family of 4 humans, 2 cats, 6 horses, and of course, 2 much loved Great Pyrs.

Clancy is our resident "old man" 4 yr old Pyr. He was our first GP and first family dog. He takes his guardian job very seriously. Sebastian is his 2 yr old nephew, who is still very much the baby of the family, and is still learning his big boy responsibilities.

Looking forward to learning and sharing.:)

Your boys are absolutely handsome! You have captured the Pyr intense look very well, probably because you have such great subjects!
What part of Canada do you call home??
What is the guarding job the boys have to do? Horses, children, you??!!
We look forward to hearing more about you & your family, 2 & 4 footed, and your life experiences together.

Thanks all for the warm welcome.
To answer your questions we live in Northern Ontario. We picked the GP breed because they are suited for life in the north with our long winters, and because they are excellent deterrents against coyotes. While this has proved true, we have discovered that the dogs main job has been to keep trespassers of a human sort off our property and away from our horses. But that's a whole 'another story.
Our farm is 40 acres and our plans are to expand from horses to include chickens and cows, once we can get ourselves organized.

Hello and welcome Brihunkwilles! I see you are a prospective pyr owner, hopefully you have checked out many of the threads to help you make your decision. They truly are an amazing breed! Are you considering one for a family pet or LGD work?
