Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum. I have a 10-week old puppy named Lily (will post pics later). I have owned a Pyr in the past, but years ago. I would like to transition to raw food. I know that there are some you can buy, but I think the cost of those on a weekly basis would be prohibitive. I did a search on this forum, but didn't turn up a recipe for raw food. I did find a few online, but I was wondering if anyone here had one that they were happy with.

I feed raw only a few times a week and I don't follow specific recipes. But Belana's mom had previously posted a recipe that she uses. You can search the forums for posts by "Belanas_mum" and you should be able to find the recipe.

I took the leap 2 months ago and started to raw feed, but I also keep the kibble out until I know I'm giving the correct amount. I give them whole chicken thighs, legs and breast and the same with Turkey. Beef back ribs, steak and fish. I buy mince meat bricks at the butcher, where it has chicken and beef with the bones all grind to gehter. I make patties and add turnip, spinach and carrot's with brown rice. I also give beef liver and kidneys, and chicken hearts/gizzards. I only give 25% of organs in their diet. I started off cooking the meat for 20 mins and then reduced it by 2 mins day (only with the patties, never give cooked bones). I also only introduced the same meat weakly to ensure they weren't having any allergies. They love when I give a whole egg with the shell.

THANKS! I did a search, but didn't find it. I'm going to try this recipe this weekend. I would think you could switch out the chicken necks with other meat protein - beef or lamb.

Can you use say, chicken thighs or backs instead of the necks? And how much do you feed? And how do you feed, by age or body weight? I am considering trying feeding raw, just not sure yet. Ironic that I just bought a new 30lb bag of food.
