Hi everyone, today is my puppy's first birthday!!
Upon waking up on her birthday, she found, to her delight, that we had left the dishwasher door open. So, she started her day by licking all of the clean dishes "clean". Next she treated herself to a birthday breakfast by eating her brother's breakfast from the kitchen counter. Her birthday is off to a great start!

Axel will be 9 months on the 24th of this month; he also enjoys the dishwasher buffet only when we are loading. Have a great day!

Good to know Mya is... normal. Loading dirty dishes in the dishwasher to her is like a day at the amusement park to a kid!!

That is so cute! Our late Samoyed mix, Psalty, started the dishwasher thing many years ago, and she would CLIMB up on the door and go to town!
Happy birthday to your puppy, Jewel. Were you fortunate enough to see yours soon after birth?

2ndpyr, this pup, sort of our 3rd pyr, joined our familiy after a lot of research and planning and here is our story. :)
Our first pyr was found wandering around by herself on a country road in front of our friend's ranch at about 3-4 months old, covered in fleas and ticks. Our friend took her in and kept her for about 6 months. They had to find her a new home because, unlike their border collies (and like a typical pyr), she was not content to just stay around the barn area, so they were always looking for her. We took her at about 10 months. She was the most beautiful dog, in looks as well as personality. She was my husband's first dog ever. Unfortunately she had a lot of health issues and eventually died of cancer last year at age 8.
Because of her, we fell in love with the breed and decided to get another pyr after she died. But because of the medical issues we had with the first one, I wanted to give ourselves a better shot at getting a healthy dog, so we went to a breeder. The breeder sent us a few pictures when the pups were 3 weeks old. We didn't know until later of course, but the very first picture the breeder sent was of Bijou. I visited the kennel when the pups were 6 weeks old and took some videos. I remember several pups (there were 13 of them altogether) came up to me and chewed on my fingers and feet and I took a video of only one of them. That one video was of Bijou. Then I took a video of one of the all white pups beating up on a marked pup. The marked pup was Bijou.
All along I had told the breeder I would prefer to have an all white pup (there were 3 of them). But when I was at the kennel I told the breeder the specific temperament I was looking for and that, notwithtsanding my preference for an all white dog, I would defer to her to pick a pup with the temperament we want. Bijou was picked by the breeder for us and she has the exact temperament we asked for.
So, yes, 2ndpyr, in a long winded way, we are very lucky to have pictures of Bijou starting at 3 weeks old. We sure like her a lot even if she thinks her name is "No-No Bad Dog"...

Ahhh I love your story.
We didn't meet our Sebastian until he was an incredible 14 weeks old! Our first pyr, Belle, we met at 6 weeks. We were pretty ignorant then and bought her at a pet store...BUT we wouldn't have traded her for anything. She lived for 11.5 years! She was all white, so I thought we would want our next to be all white.
Well but when we met Sabby, he wasn't completely all white....but that's why his middle name is Cappucino, because the side of his face, the same side that Belle would often end up with coffee on (another story) is a light coffee stained color.
